Walking is one of the best ways of getting exercise and meeting new people. The walks are geared at a leisurely pace and are low–impact. What a great way to get out and about to enjoy Mother Nature and enjoy the company of others.

All walks take place every Wednesday morning at 9:00am beginning April 18th and running until September 26th. Meet at the Wyoming Senior Center or the designated place on the schedule each week.

Lacrosse scrimmage for charity

Lacrosse scrimmage for charity

Grand Rapids, MI - On Friday, April 13, 2012, the boy’s lacrosse teams from Forest Hills Northern/Eastern and Grand Rapids Catholic Central will be working together on their 2nd annual “You Are Not Alone” event. This year proceeds from this event will benefit the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan education programs. The scrimmage will take place at 7:00 pm at Forest Hills Eastern High School stadium with games and raffles for all ages.

The teams chose to benefit the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan education programs because suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among adolescents in Kent County and the 3rd leading cause of death among adolescents nationally.  It is critical to include mental health education in our school curriculum and for students to know that they “Are Not Alone”.
