Bird knocks out power to thousands in GR & EGR | News

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Consumers Energy says a bird caused problems at a substation leaving 6,600 customers without power in southeast Grand Rapids and East Grand Rapids.

Electrical service went out at 1:05 p.m. Crews were able to restore power to 3,000 customers around 2:45 p.m. The remaining 3,600 customers in East Grand Rapids should have service restored around 4 p.m.
