GRPD: Man arrested after pointing gun at wife
News

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who they say pointed a gun at his wife before briefly barricading himself inside a Grand Rapids home Thursday evening.

Responding officers said they saw the man's wife, also 23 years old, leaving the home when they arrived. She told them her husband had fired the weapon and was threatening suicide. Officers surrounded the house and made announcements urging the man to come out of the house, which he did without incident shortly before 6 o'clock. At that point, police tweeted he'd been taken into custody.

The GRPD's major case team is investigating the incident as a felonious assault and will forward the case to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office to review for charges. Anyone with additional information on the case should contact the GRPD at 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or www.silentobserver.org.
