GRPD, FBI search SE homes for wanted man

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A tip led to a heavy police presence in parts of the southeast side of Grand Rapids Monday afternoon.

Members of the GRPD Major Case and Special Response teams, as well as members of the Grand Rapids FBI Task Force, were searching for 24-year-old Fredrick Desean Gibbs, who's wanted on a felony parole absconding warrant and a felony warrant for committing perjury on a life offense.

Investigators searched homes in the 2000 block of Kalamazoo Ave. SE, near  Burton St., and in the 1100 block of Marshall Ave. SE, near the Eastern and Hall intersection. Police said the people who live in those homes were extremely cooperative and consented to having their homes searched.

Officers didn't find Gibbs, though.

Anyone who can help police find Fredrick Gibbs should contact GRPD at 616-456-3604 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or www.silentobserver.org. Police said they'll be releasing a picture of Gibbs shortly.
