GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - A security guard for the Gerald R. Ford International Airport is hurt after a car fire.

It happened around 9 p.m. Sunday on the second level of the parking garage. Airport leaders say one car caught fire and the flames spread to six other cars. At least two of the cars were destroyed.

The security guard was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. There is no word on that guard's condition.

Airport firefighters quickly put the fire out. The garage was closed for about an hour so crews could clear the smoke from the area.
