Bar customer describes robbery by band of bicycle riders
News

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Staff at the Pump House Bar on Langley Street say the band of bicycle riding armed robbers who held up the business early Wednesday may also be responsible for a robbery several months ago.

But, the first time they say the thieves only robbed the business. Wednesday they also made the customers empty their pockets and give up their purse.

"4 men came in with masks and guns and held a gun to my friend's side, took everything out of his pockets and took my purse," recalls customer Danna Debour. "I'm scared. It will be awhile before I feel safe in any kind of public place."

Debour says she was only carrying $25.00, but she also had her license, credit cards, car and house keys and phone in her purse.

The bar has security cameras, and there may be surveillance video of the robbery.

Witnesses say the robbers rode their get-a-way bicycles into a nearby apartment complex and disappeared.

The Pump House used to stay open until 2:00 a.m., but since the latest robbery, they now close at 11:30 p.m.
