Girl Scouts to take part in Gerald R. Ford Tree Lighting tonight

Make it a point to stroll downtown this evening for the Annual Presidential Museum Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7pm at the Gerald R. Ford Museum at 303 Pearl St. NW in Grand Rapids, MI.

For the first time in its history, Girl Scouts, with Rockford Service Unit 322, will be included in  performing the Flag Ceremony at the outdoor event.

Immediately following the tree lighting, there will be live music, a sing-along and the announcement of the 2014 Community Tree Awards.

January 2015 may seem like a long way off to many but it really is not and Kohler Expos, Inc. would like you to reserve some time to come to the Kids and Family Expo January 24, 2015.

Cabin fever sometimes sets in around January each year and this is the perfect opportunity to come play, celebrate, get active, explore, build, learn and discover. This Expo will encourage family bonding time, encourage physical activity and empower children and families to lead better lives.

Craft Fair 2014 this Saturday

The Byron Center Fine Arts Boosters invite the public, just in time for the holidays, to experience this Annual Craft Show on Saturday. This is a fundraiser provided by the BCRAB, who help support Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing resources that the school is not able to.

On Saturday, November 8 over 200 quality crafters will have their handmade, one-of-a-kind merchandise available for purchase from 9:00am – 3:00pm at Byron Center High School located at 84th & Burlingame SW.

Admission: $2.00 per person

Alger Heights Halloween 5K & 10K

Alger Heights Halloween 5K & 10K

The public is invited to take part or enjoy the sights of this festive 5K/10K event. The course is USTAF certified and runs through the diverse Alger Heights neighborhood. Strollers are welcome but are asked to line up at the start line behind those without. The 10K course is a double loop of this same course. All participants are encouraged to race in costume in celebration of the festive Halloween holiday & are eligible for the costume contest awards.

On-line registration closes at noon on Thursday, 10/23/14. Late Registration is Friday, October 24 from 5-7pm & Saturday, October 26 from 7:30am-845am at the Alger Middle School gym located at 921 Alger SE in GR.

Make a difference on Wednesday, October 22 for the precious cats of Crash's Landing by visiting one of 14 different Pizza Hut’s.

Print the flier from Crash Landing & Sid’s Sanctuary web site. Present the filier to one of 14 Pizza Hut locations from 11am – 11pm for Dine-in, Carry-out or Delivery to get 20% of your bill donated to Crash’s Landing and Sanctuary for their assistance with stray cats.

Wyoming Pumpkin Path Event this Saturday

The Annual Pumpkin Path event held in Lamar Park in Wyoming, MI is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th from 5 – 7pm. 

This is a free event for families with local businesses, clubs and organizations hosting spaces along the path to hand out goodies including candy and prizes. Feel free to dress in costume but costumes are optional.
