Suspect Arrested for a Series of Break-ins in the East Metro Area

A suspect has been arrested for a series of break-ins in the East Metro Area of Grand Rapids and Kent County.

Earlier this week, My Town reported on tools being stolen during a break-in of a shed on the 5600 block of East Fulton SE in Ada.  On March 31, 2011, two Kent County deputies interviewed a male suspect for that break-in.  While interviewing the suspect they determined that he was involved in five home invasions in the eastern part of Kent County and Grand Rapids. The deputies recovered a great deal of stolen property, mostly power and hand tools.

All the victims have not been located, so the Kent County Sheriff’s Department is requesting that if you had items stolen from your garages or shed, file an online report or contact Deputy Julie Vogelzang at the East Precinct (616) 632-6435.

The online reporting can be accessed at http://www.accesskent.com/CourtsAndLawEnforcement/SheriffsDepartment/then go to online services on the left side(at bottom) and click on "File Police Report".
