National Heritage Academies (NHA), a leading national charter school operator, recently honored several Grand Rapids-area charter schools with 2010-2011 Eagle Awards. The local schools and awards they received include:
Chandler Woods Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Cross Creek Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Excel Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Knapp Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Ridge Park Charter Academy – Parent Loyalty
Vanguard Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Vista Charter Academy – Academic Proficiency, Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
Walker Charter Academy – Employee Engagement and Parent Loyalty
The Academic Proficiency Award is granted to schools that meet or exceed proficiency measures on their state test and the NWEA MAP test, which NHA administers to its students three times each year to measure academic growth and proficiency.
A qualified staff that is dedicated to its school community and committed to the children it serves is crucial for student achievement. As such, NHA rewards schools with high employee satisfaction with the Employee Engagement Award.
To be selected for the Parent Loyalty Award, NHA requires 60% or more of a school’s parents be very satisfied with their child’s school—a statistic measured by an internally-generated parent survey. NHA understands that parental support is critical to a child’s success in school, so the company honors those schools that demonstrate the highest levels of parental satisfaction and loyalty.
For the past 11 years, Eagle Awards have been awarded by NHA to the top performing schools meeting high standards. For more information about NHA and the charter schools it manages, visit www.heritageacademies.com.
