Kentwood-based Zonderkidz wants West Michigan families to “come on over.”

The Emmy-nominated “Come On Over!” stage show created by West Michigan native Joel Schoon-Tanis is pairing up with Christian music stars Jars of Clay for a family-friendly event in Grand Rapids this fall.

This interactive stage show, sponsored by Christian children’s publisher Zonderkidz, will be held Saturday, November 5 at 10 a.m. at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship, on the campus of Grand Rapids Christian High School, 2300 Plymouth Road SE.  Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets are on sale now at www.itickets.com.  Charge by phone at 800-965-9324.  Tickets are $10 a person, or family/group of 4 for $30, general admission.  Service charge will apply.

“Come On Over! Featuring Musical Guests Jars of Clay” is meant to appeal to families with children ages 3-8 and will showcase skits and music around the theme of “God Made YOU Creative!”  A number of Come On Over! characters will drop by to explore the many ways people are creative and how those gifts are pleasing to God.  Jars of Clay will perform songs that cater to kids during the one hour show.

This event by Zonderkidz will also celebrate the recent releases of “Come On Over” in DVD format.  In Blast Off!, the Come On Over! crew goes on an imaginative ride on giant tinfoil spaceships. And, in Groovy!, they help a shy friend come out of her shell using faith-building exercises and song.

Using his art studio and backyard as the primary setting, Joel and the his quirky cast of friends and neighbors — including local radio host Ceci LeBarge, Brandy, Grandma Zippy, Hedge, and Mr. Flabbinjaw — burst into music videos, whimsical make-believe, hands-on arts-based projects and a number of faith-building activities.

Additional DVDs featuring Come On Over! will be released in 2012 from Zonderkidz.

The DVDs and other resources will be available for purchase at the Grand Rapids event.  The cast will be able to meet and greet guests after the show.  More about the show, including song clips and videos from Jars of Clay can be found at www.comeonover.com
