NEW WEBSITE INVITES CUSTOMERS TO TRACK CITY’S
TRANSFORMATION PROGRESS

On Tuesday, July 27, 2010 information about a new SharePoint site was presented to the Grand Rapids City Commission. The new site is designed to provide the City’s customers with a single point of reference to learn about the transformation the City of Grand Rapids is undertaking. The site is divided into three areas: Transparency and Accountability Gateway, Engaging Citizens, and Transforming the City’s Operation.
Each area contains information related to the City’s efforts. For example, the City Score Card page provides customers the opportunity to follow the progress of the City and keep informed as to how their City government is performing. Specifically, the City Score Card provides information about the City’s Sustainability Plan and the City Commission’s Transformation Priorities. Customers can track the progress made by departments for each of the outcomes and targets.
In announcing the new SharePoint site, Mayor George K. Heartwell said, “I share the excitement of my fellow Commissioners and staff. I am thrilled about our efforts to engage our customers and become more transparent. This is a great example of City government changing to embrace a sustainable future.”
City Manager Gregory Sundstrom encourages customers to visit the new SharePoint site at http://transform.mygrcity.us to track the City’s transformation efforts.
