Eastern Floral and Molesta Floral to merge operations | News
WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- After 100 years in business Molesta Floral in Wyoming is making a big change. The fifth generation business, located at 2960 Madison Avenue SE, has a tentative agreement to combine certain operations with Eastern Floral.
In a written statement Eastern Floral CEO Bing Goei said, "This merger is an innovative way to maintain low costs on floral needs, as well as increase the ability to provide exceptional service and high quality product to Molesta's existing clientele."
Goei continued, "Eastern Floral has been selected to control production, delivery and administrative duties. I am confident that we have the experience and knowledge to provide their customers with the high quality, efficient and outstanding service that they have come to associate with Molesta Floral."
On Friday, employees with Molesta Floral say they were told this week, that they were losing their jobs. They say business had been declining for the past 5 years. "It's a sad time for all of us," says Margie Wolverton. She's been an employee at the floral shop for 17 years. She says most of the employees, knew business wasn't good. Ashley MacDonald has been with the company for 5 years. "We would have fewer phone calls, less customers coming in. It was really sad."
